All of you must be facing this problem while doing PF Claim in your account. The EPFO ​​has not given any information about why this error is coming. This problem is short-lived so you don't have to worry. Such a problem has come before in EPFO. If you have added the bank account in the past and it is showing in your KYC section, then you do not have to worry.


The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (abbreviated to EPFO), is an organisation tasked to assist the Central Board of Trustees. Employees' Provident Fund is a statutory body established by the Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 and is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.


Universal Account Number or UAN is a 12-digit number allotted to every member registered with Employee’s Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Registered members can use this number to track all details related to their Provident Fund contribution and carry out any activity related to their PF account.

How to withdraw PF online with UAN?

You can easily withdraw your PF online through your UAN by visiting the EPFO e-SEWA portal. Here are the steps you need to follow:

Step 1- Visit the EPFO e-SEWA portal and login using your UAN and password, and enter the captcha code. In case you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset via an OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 2- When you’ve logged in, you can look for ‘Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C & 10D)’ in the ‘Online Services’ section

Step 3- Once this section opens, you will be required to enter the correct bank account number (seeded with UAN), as a verification process

Step 4- Once you’ve verified your details, you would need to confirm the ‘Terms and Conditions’ as stated by EPFO. You can then click on ‘Proceed for Online Claim’

Step 5- You’ll find a dropdown menu, from which you would need to choose the reason for withdrawing from your PF account. You will only be shown the options for which you’re eligible.

Step 6- When you select the reason for withdrawal, you would need to enter your complete address, and you may need to upload your cheque/passbook details if you’ve chosen the option for ‘Advance Claim’. You’ll need to accept further ‘Terms and Conditions’ before requesting a one-time password (OTP) for verification.

Step 7- Once you’ve confirmed your details and accepted the ‘Terms and Conditions’, you would need to request an OTP, which will be sent to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. On entering the OTP, your claim application will be submitted.

How to Check the Claim Status for Provident Fund?

Employees can check their PF claim status on the UAN Member Portal by following these few simple steps.

Step 1 – Log in to your UAN Member Portal by entering your UAN and password.

Step 2 – Click on option ‘Online Services’.

Step 3 – Click on ‘Track Claim Status’.

Step 4 – The entire details of your withdrawal or transfer status would appear on the screen.
